Job Description:

SSW Food Server refers to the role of a food service professional who is responsible for providing efficient and courteous service to customers in a restaurant, café, or other dining establishments. SSW stands for “Service, Satisfaction, and Well-being,” emphasizing the focus on delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting a positive dining experience for patrons.

Key Responsibilities of an SSW Food Server:

  1. Greeting and Seating: Welcoming guests as they arrive, escorting them to their tables, and assisting with seating arrangements. This includes providing menus, explaining daily specials, and answering any initial inquiries.
  2. Taking Orders: Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently from customers, ensuring attention to special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies. Providing recommendations and suggestive selling when appropriate.
  3. Serving Food and Beverages: Delivering orders to the correct tables promptly, ensuring accuracy and presentation. Serving beverages, such as water, coffee, and other beverages, refilling glasses as needed. Removing empty dishes and utensils throughout the meal.
  4. Knowledge of Menu: Having a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Being able to provide detailed explanations and answer customer questions regarding the menu items.
  5. Upselling and Cross-Selling: Actively promoting additional menu items, such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty beverages, to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Recommending suitable pairings or complementary dishes.
  6. Ensuring Cleanliness: Maintaining cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and service stations. Clearing and resetting tables promptly for the next guest. Assisting with general cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant.
  7. Handling Payments: Presenting bills to customers, accurately processing payments, and returning change or providing receipts. Handling cash, credit cards, or electronic payment transactions in a secure and efficient manner.
  8. Handling Customer Inquiries and Complaints: Addressing customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly and professionally. Resolving issues to the best of one’s ability or escalating them to the appropriate supervisor or manager when necessary.
  9. Collaborating with the Kitchen and Bar Staff: Communicating customer orders and special requests to the kitchen and bar staff. Coordinating timing and ensuring a smooth flow of food and beverages to the tables. Maintaining effective communication and teamwork with other staff members.
  10. Adhering to Health and Safety Standards: Following proper food handling and safety protocols, including maintaining personal hygiene, proper handwashing, and adherence to food safety regulations. Ensuring a clean and safe environment for both customers and staff.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
  • Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
  • N4 PASSER / Japanese Language Proficiency Test or JFT PASSER OR PROMETRIC Skills test PASSER. Interested and willingness to work in Japan.
  • EX- TRAINEE or At least completed technical intern trainee program.
